FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; applicable in production of pig iron and ferroalloys in blast furnaces and at enterprises of other industries where nonorganized effluents get into environment in the form of fine solid particles. SUBSTANCE: method consists in performance of continuous monitoring of composition and quantity of burden materials charged into blast furnace and products of blast-furnace smelting. In so doing, quantity of iron in noncaught products of blast-furnace smelting is determined from ratio between quantity of chemical element or compound not passing into pig iron, charged into blast furnace together with burden materials and coming into composition of caught products of blast-furnace smelting presented by components of blast-furnace burden in the form of fine solid particles and also by quantity of iron in these products.
