FIELD: diffusion welding; applicable in diffusion welding in vacuum of articles with flange and wall. SUBSTANCE: method includes formation of protrusion on one of welded surfaces. Thickness of the other member shall be equal to 0.4-0.7 of made protrusion thickness. Formed preliminarily on other member end face is zone of free deformation in the form of macroprotrusions. Welded surfaces are heated with low-power electronic beam. Then protrusion is additionally heated up to welding temperature by increasing power of electronic beam. Macroprotrusions are presented into protrusion through 1.0-1.5 of their height by applying definite force. The, compressing force is reduced. EFFECT: higher quality of obtained welded joints due to increase of contact area of welded surfaces and provided required geometry of welded unit. 3 cl, 3 dwg, 1 tbl
