FIELD: diffusion welding, applicable for production of apparatuses and other bimetallic items with ducts located under the cladding layer used to pass the heat- transfer agent in various branches of mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: grooves 2 are made on the inner surface of vessel 1 before diffusion welding, for example by machining. Then lugs 4 are applied onto the inner surface of cladding layer 3. The cladding layer is annealed to remove the cold-work hardening stress. Then the outer surface of the cladding layer is cleaned of scale and impurities and placed in vessel 1. After that the cladding layer is subjected to mechanical deformation up to the full deformation of the lugs. Then steel assembly jacket 5 preliminarily annealed in oxidizing atmosphere is placed in the vessel; after that the edges of jacket 5 and vessel; are packed, and vacuum is created between them. The whole assembly is placed in a compression chamber, the heating system is switched on and pressure is raised in the compression furnace and after an isothermal holding the heating system is switched off and pressure is relieved.
