FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves showing light flickers to a testee under frequency increasing at a rate of 20 Hz/s at the first measurement stage. The testee determines suprathreshold value of the critical light flicker frequency. At the second stage, the light flickers are shown to the testee under frequency reducing at a rate of 2 Hz/s. The testee determines subthreshold value of the critical light flicker frequency. At the third stage, the light flickers are shown to a testee under frequency equal to arithmetical mean of the frequencies selected by the testee at the first two stages of measurement. The testee determines the real critical light flicker frequency value by increasing or reducing the light flicker frequency by 0.1 Hz in discrete manner. EFFECT: reduced visual analyzer fatigue; increased measurement accuracy.
