FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and aims at determination of learning time to estimate critical flicker frequency. Flickers of the reference frequency equal to 20 Hz are presented to a person being tested. At the first stage of measurements, the flicker frequency is increased at the rate 10 Hz/s until the person being tested specifies the first after-threshold CFF. At the second stage of measurements, the flicker frequency is decreased at the rate 3 Hz/s until the person being tested specifies the subthreshold CFF. At the third stage of measurements, the flicker frequency is increased at the rate 1 Hz/s until the person being tested specifies the second after-threshold CFF considered as its true value which is marked in a coordinate plane "CFF - measurement number". The described procedure is repeated more than once, and function F=f(Ni) of CFF values F is graphed, where Ni is a number of the i-th measurement, i=1, 2,… k, k is a number of measurements, to derive a quasi-stationary mode when a transient process is completed, the learning time is determined by the number of measurements during the transient process.
EFFECT: method allows for reliable determination of learning time to estimate the CFF.
