FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves showing light flickers to a testee reducing it and approaching the critical light flicker frequency. The light flickers are shown to the testee under frequency reducing at a rate of 30 Hz/s at the first measurement stage. The testee determines the first suprathreshold value of the critical light flicker frequency. At the second stage, the light flickers are shown to the testee under frequency reducing at a rate of 10 Hz/s. The testee determines the first subthreshold value of the critical light flicker frequency. At the third stage, the light flickers are shown to a testee under frequency increasing at a rate of 5 Hz/s and the testee determines the first subthreshold value of the critical light flicker frequency. At the fourth stage, the light flickers are shown to the testee under frequency reducing at a rate of 2 Hz/s and the testee determines the second suprathreshold value of the critical light flicker frequency. The real critical light flicker frequency is determined by the testee at the fifth stage of measurements. EFFECT: reduced visual analyzer fatigue; accelerated measurement process.
