FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves showing light flickers having continuously increasing frequency at 20 Hz/s speed. Testee determines maximum permissible estimated supraliminal value of critical light flicker fusion frequency. The second stage involves showing light flickers having continuously decreasing frequency at 2 Hz/s speed. Testee determines minimum permissible estimated subliminal value of critical light flicker fusion frequency. The third stage involves showing light flickers having discretely increasing frequency with 0.1 Hz/s large step. Testee determines minimum permissible estimated supraliminal value of critical light flicker fusion frequency. The fourth stage involves showing light flickers having discretely decreasing frequency with 0.1 Hz/s large step. Testee determines maximum permissible estimated subliminal value of critical light flicker fusion frequency. Accuracy estimate of critical light flicker fusion frequency is defined as frequency difference between the values obtained by the testee at the third and the fourth measurement stage. EFFECT: high accuracy of the end result.
