FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device is used for fastening of cutting plates on mandrels for machining of metals by cutting. Device is intended for fastening of cutting plates on mandrels with or without supporting plate between cutting plate and mandrel. In this case, cutting plate has lower side and supporting plate or mandrel, bearing surface. To exclude necessity for side bearing surfaces or points which require high dimensional accuracy, lower side of plate is provided with grooves and flat sections between them, and bearing surface of supporting plate or mandrel has section with ribs corresponding to the grooves and designed for interaction with respective number of grooves. In this case, part of the flat sections between grooves on cutting plate is intended for interaction as bearing surfaces of cutting plate with part of the bearing surface not provided with ribs. Cutting plate is designed for machining of metals by cutting. It has upper surface, lower surface and side surfaces positioned between them. Lower side of cutting plate is provided with several groups of grooves and ribs positioned in parallel in every group. To exclude necessity for side bearing surfaces, ribs between grooves are provided with flat bearing surfaces, and number of grooves and ribs groups equals two or more.
