SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to machining of materials and can be used in milling ledges. Cutting insert comprises upper side, lower side, lateral surface extending along cutting plate periphery, and a cutting edge formed between the side surface and the front surface. Cutting edge comprises, at least, main section, angular radius section, inclined section and finishing section. Side surface comprises upper set of main rear surfaces and lower set of auxiliary rear surfaces, containing multiple flat auxiliary rear surfaces. Upper set of the main rear surfaces forms a cantilever protruding relative to the auxiliary surfaces and extending around the entire periphery of the cutting plate.

EFFECT: plate is installed in mill and provides effective milling of benches.
