FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: rotation and relative axial motion are imparted to part and tool. Machining is performed by embracing tool with honing sticks moving radially. Every honing stick is pressed to surface being machined with constant force. Tool rotation is stopped on finishing stage of machining. Dimensional abrasive machining and honing of helical surface are performed on one installation. Increased number of cutting honing sticks and provision for required uniform force of pressing them to surface being machines, as well as introduction of dwelling with tool stopped, improve quality of machining. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 dwg
