FIELD: machine engineering, possibly finish abrasive treatment of threaded surfaces of precise screws by embraced grinding. SUBSTANCE: grinding wheel embracing part is mounted with eccentricity relative to axis of treated part and with inclination angle equal to leading angle of turn of screw surfaces. Grinding wheel may perform rotation, cross motion and translation motion with lengthwise feed equal to screw pitch. Grinding wheel is moved in cross direction due to eccentricity increased for each doubled stroke of lengthwise feed. Part is driven to rotation in opposite direction relative to its own axis at speed different from revolution number of grinding wheel and related with speed of its lengthwise feed. Screw surface is treated successively with use of embracing grinding wheel having cross section with inner working surface in the form of recess and ridge for treating ridge and recess of screw surface respectively.
