FIELD: laying out, designing and construction of motor roads. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used also for construction of railroads, transmission lines, pipelines and other linear objects. Method comes to determining horizontally laid layout sections and calculating spatial length of layout. Novelty is that horizontally laid straight sections d are determined and their spatial lengths are calculated by formula where id is designed slope of straight section of road. Moreover, spatial lengths of horizontal and vertical curves are calculated by equations given in description of invention, and spatial length of road layout is determined as sum of all spatial lengths of all straight sections, and all horizontal and all vertical curves.
