FIELD: wind-power engineering. SUBSTANCE: windmill has rotor capable of rotating under wind action about vertical axis relative to horizon and rotary shaft coupled with rotor for setting it in rotary motion by means of mentioned rotor to convey energy imparted to rotor by wind; according to invention, rotor has hollow cylindrical body whose side walls are mainly formed by blades installed in vertical position so as to admit wind inside hollow cylindrical body and to set it in rotary motion together with rotary shaft coupled with this cylindrical body.
