FIELD: oil industry; automatic control of pumping unit. SUBSTANCE: control system is operated with the aid of computerized control unit which receives data from Coriolis flowmeter. Control unit makes the system discontinue operation of pumping unit when Coriolis flowmeter shows reduction in pump output which is indicative in its turn of drop of level of fluid medium in productive pipe line below highest point of motion for pump plunger. Production is discontinued to let oil-bearing bed increase its pressure and level of fluid medium necessary for repeated operation.
