FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: method for determining characteristics of fluid medium for multicomponent fluid medium. Method includes a step of measurement of the first density, ρ1, multicomponent fluid medium, containing one or more incompressible components and one or more compressible components in the state of the first density. Method further includes a control stage of multicomponent fluid medium from the state of the first density into the state of the second density. Then the second density, ρ2, of multicomponent fluid medium is measured in the state of the second density, and one or more characteristics of fluid medium of at least one of the compressible components or incompressible components is measured. At that the proportion of one or more incompressible components and one or more compressible components in a flow of multicomponent fluid is, in fact, identical in the state of the first and the second density.
