FIELD: steroids, pharmaceutical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention describes method of isolation of phytosterols composition involving β-sitosterol, campesterol and stigmastanol from soap as pulp obtained by treatment of wood chips that includes: at the first stage soap as pulp is mixed with solvents mixture containing ketone taken among the group of the general structure RCO-R¹ where R and R¹ are alkyl groups, aliphatic hydrocarbon taken among C₅-C₁₀-hydrocarbon and water and alcohol free at temperature from 25 C to 150 C to form cream-like deposit; at the second stage cream-like deposit is purified to obtain phytosterol composition. Prepared composition is used for treatment of patients with dislipidemia and atherosclerosis including diseases of heart coronary vessels.
