FIELD: bridge engineering; construction of arch span for railway or highway bridges. SUBSTANCE: bridge arch span with top-deck or middle-deck roadways has arches and roadway integrated with by means of posts or hangers. Novelty is that roadway is rigidly fixed at its ends on bridge footings and also fastened to arches at their intersection or contact points spaced through distance S from transversal axis of bridge which amounts to (0-0.35)L, where L is entire length of roadway; bridge is provided with transversal horizontal diaphragms joining intersection or contact points to roadway to form rigid structure. Stiffness of arch span with top-deck or middle-deck roadways is enhanced due to elimination of S-shaped vertical arch deformations when half of span carries temporary load. EFFECT: provision for eliminating longitudinal displacement of roadway structures. 3 dwg
