FIELD: coating of surfaces. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying layer of coating material to pretreated surface, with color of layer corresponding to desired color background; applying at least one powder colored in accordance with color of pattern to be reproduced to mentioned surface, with powder being distributed in accordance with desired pattern of design; drying surface for time interval and at temperature sufficient for reliable adherence of powder to surface. Coat is made from powdered material, and upon applying, surface to be decorated is heated to temperature lower than that required for drying of coating powder material and sufficient for adherence of coat to mentioned surface. Method allows surfaces of any configuration, area and thin surfaces to be decorated with multiple color coat. EFFECT: increased efficiency, improved resistance of coats to atmospheric effects and increased decorative effect. 29 cl, 3 dwg
