APPARATUS FOR CUTTING MOVING ROLLED PIECE Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: rolled stock production, namely apparatuses for measure-length cutting of rolled piece, possibly cutting continuously moving rolled blank by predetermined-length pieces in shape bending mills. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes base with guides supporting carriage carrying cut-off unit with possibility of reciprocation motion. Drive unit for moving carriage is in the form of controlled diameter pulley joined with carriage by means of rope. Mechanism for returning carriage to initial position is in the form of roller unit mounted on base and having weight joined by means of rope with carriage. Free wheeling clutch is in the form of electromagnetic coupling and it is arranged between synchronized link and carriage. Synchronized link is in the form of chain drum joined by means of roller chain with second (similar to first one) chain drum mounted on stem of working roll of final stand of mill. Shaft of drive unit for moving carriage and shaft of synchronized link are coaxially joined by means of electromagnetic coupling. Pulley is in the form of drum with controlled diameter. Apparatus also includes device for metering length with pickup arranged on shaft with chain drum. EFFECT: simplified design, enhanced accuracy and quality of cutting. 3 cl, 6 dwg
