CLEANING PISTON-SEPARATOR Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: cleaning inner surfaces of main pipe lines during washing or removal of water after hydraulic tests and during blowing the main gas lines. SUBSTANCE: proposed piston has hollow shaft with collars secured on it in two-row groups; cleaning tools in form of brushes made from elastic material are mounted before each row of collars; brushes are provided with holders; front end of shaft carries nozzles. Hollow shaft is provided with sleeve arranged inside it; brushes are made in form of two circular flat sectors shifted over circle relative to each other; sector of one brush overlaps sector of other brush; brushes are pressed in brush holders arranged in row over circle between two flanges for radial motion but at limited elastic ring over all brush holders of row which are engageable through pushers reeved in guides of shaft with cones fitted on sleeve provided with collar for sealing the space between sleeve and shaft. Front end of shaft carries two rows of nozzles; nozzles of one row are directed at acute angle relative to plane of brushes of front cleaning tool at area of contact of brushes with surface of pipe line and nozzles of other row are directed to the same side at the same angle but away from brushes.
