SELF-SEALING CLEANING UNIT Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: cleaning inner surfaces of pipe lines against dirt and water residue in form of film on walls of pipe in blowing it with gas or air. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has two hollow elastic bodies mounted at definite distance from each other and provided with cleaning members secured on free ends of elastic bodies; each of them is provided with elastic collar fitted behind each member at definite distance; elastic bodies are provided with bearing members and working medium supply system. Elastic bodies are cylindrical in shape; they are secured on bush which is blanked off at the front; cleaning members are mounted inside body by means of cover plates; they are made in form of sectors from antifriction plastic and are assembled together for relative motion by means of tongued-and-grooved joint forming single flat hermetic rings. Bearing members made in form of rods are inclined backward at acute angle relative to axis of ring by means of spherical joints; they are movable; cover plates are connected with bush of whose front end working medium supply system is mounted for delivery of this medium to pipe line; this system is provided with two rows of nozzles; nozzles of one row are directed at acute angle relative to plane of ring of front elastic body at area where ring is engageable with surface of pipe and nozzles of second row are directed to the same side at the same angle but away from plane of ring. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency; improved quality of cleaning inner surfaces of pipe lines from dirt and water residue in form of film on pipe walls. 3 dwg
