FIELD: drying of solid materials, applicable for drying of short pasta. SUBSTANCE: drier body accommodates a perforated drum and a central tube, the space between which is separated by generating lines into sectors with specially shaped pockets providing at rotation of the drum movement of the material along the sectors, annular and continuous partitions of the central tube section corresponding to them, forming the effective zones of intensive drying, softening, slow drying, connections for loading and unloading of material and heat-transfer agent; fans, air heaters; the annular and continuous partitions corresponding to them form zones of radial motion of the heat-transfer agent relative to the drum surface, and the volumes formed by each pair of the external and internal pockets and pouring channels corresponding to then are divided by profiles into two pockets equal in volume, connected to each other and subsequent pocket by the pouring channels, formed by the inclined profiles with an angle of inclination of not less than the angle of friction of the material being dried and inclined profile.
