FIELD: manufacture of abrasive tools, possibly for finish abrasive working of helical surfaces of precise screws such as screws of screw pumps. SUBSTANCE: wheel for grinding screws is designed, mainly for grinding screws with large leading angle of turns by method of running local contact of hard-to-grind materials. Wheel with straight profile and with height equal to pitch half of worked screw is mounted in such a way that it is inclined by acute angle αAPC relative to plane normal to circle rotation axis by means of beveled washers. Two washers are placed at side of each end of wheel. Turning of wheel by such angle with formation of axially shifted cutting layer provides oscillation of peripheral cutting surface of wheel. It allows to receive cutting zone equal to screw pitch and to interrupt cutting process for certain cross sections of worked part. In description of invention relation is given for selecting angle between ends of each beveled washer. Such wheel has improved strength and vibration proofness.
