Rail track level differences to one and other sides are formed on reference straight- line section of track. Wear is revealed by change of signal of corresponding matrix eddy-current displacement sensor. Device has four detectors, measured information processing unit, storage and recorder. Displacement sensor oriented parallel to inner end face surfaces f wheels is arranged at lower level rail. Sensor oriented square to inner end face surfaces of wheels is arranged at upper level rails lower than wheel flanges.
