FIELD: ball cock manufacturing technology. SUBSTANCE: ball cocks are provided with sealing seats made of material possessing low elasticity motion, for example, thermally expanded graphite. Method includes sealing of gate with seats due to deformation of both seats made mostly of material possessing low-elasticity modulus. Seats are deformed by total value of 1.8-2.4 of clearance size over external diameter between socket and seat. Then seats are pressurized by application of pressure to gate alternately from each side. Pressure is raised till value of gate turning moment makes up 1.5-3.0 of value of cock spindle friction moment without gate. EFFECT: improved operational characteristics of ball cocks due to sealing of seats and enlarging of seat-to-gate contact ares. 1 dwg
