FIELD: electrical measurement of parameters of shock and detonation waves. SUBSTANCE: piezoresistive pickup is placed into dielectric medium in agreement with method. Shock wave is excited in medium by collision with metal plate. Voltage across pickup is recorded and used to determine pressure and time moment of arrival of shock wave to pickup. Electromotive force of electromagnetic induction caused by change of magnetic field of pickup due to movement of plate is recorded prior to arrival of shock wave to pickup and used to determine time moments of coincidence of surface of plate facing pickup with front of incident and/or reflected shock wave. Thus it is possible to record simultaneously pressure profile and movement of shock wave not distorted by pickups with time resolution not worse than 1 ns and to measure velocity of free surface of plate and velocity of shock wave in medium undistorted by pickups with accuracy not worse than 1%.
