FIELD: investigating fast processes (fast combustion, explosion, shock wave propagation). SUBSTANCE: method for measuring time intervals between data signals of 100 to 1000 mcs coming from sensors and recorded on light-sensitive medium with reduced error not over 0.1% includes light supply, its polarization by feeding control signals directly to each modulator channel, transmission of optical data signals through lenses and light shutter to mirror, and photo- recording on light-sensitive medium; used as light source is tubular flash lamp mounted along multichannel modulator; mirror speed is pre-stabilized before photo-recording moment whereupon light source is turned on and object being investigated is initiated while mirror is rotating, frequency-stabilized control signal is passed from crystal oscillator to at least one of multichannel modulator inputs to generate time stamps; at the same time data signals and time stamps are recorded on fixed light-sensitive medium, and image obtained is used to measure time intervals between data signals using time stamps whose repetition period is inversely proportional to their repetition frequency.
