FIELD: chemistry of uranium; study of corrosion of uranium stored in hermetic containers for analysis of degree of corrosion destruction of uranium. SUBSTANCE: method consists in dynamic measurement of change in parameters of medium of storage followed by plotting calibration graphs of parameters of storage medium - content of carbon dioxide versus time. Uranium specimens are placed in container which presents system of absorbent and catalyst on base of palladium which absorb selectively gaseous admixtures from storage medium and are blown with air before dynamic measurement to stable state of system. Monitoring of medium contained in container is performed both in the course of one storage cycle and at periodic test opening of container. Besides that, measurement of change of content of components of storage medium is made through recording change in content of carbon dioxide, content of uranium substance in container. EFFECT: facilitated procedure; enhanced efficiency of determination of moment of beginning of corrosion of metallic uranium after opening of container; possibility of revealing degree of cleaning of uranium surface from primary corrosion in storage. 2 cl, 2 dwg, 2 ex
