FIELD: environment control; disposal of solid radioactive wastes. SUBSTANCE: radioactive waste storage is, essentially, vessel converging from top downwards that has tilted bottom surrounded by drain duct. Vessel is made in natural rock mass and accommodates reinforced-concrete tank protruding above rock mass surface and divided into compartments. Boss is provided on tank walls. Space between vessel and tank is filled with layers of water- insulating clay barrier and water-permeable soil. Water intake is located at lowermost point of vessel and has water conveying line running to surface. EFFECT: improved environmental friendliness and reliability of storage. 3 dwg
