FIELD: storage of recovered radioactive wastes.
SUBSTANCE: proposed reinforced-concrete storage has flat-bottom reservoir made in earth mass which is contracting from top downwards and is surrounded by drain groove. Reservoir bottom mounts reinforced-concrete tank divided into compartments and provided with walls, bottom and cover formed by covering slabs. Inner surfaces of walls and bottom of mentioned tank are covered with water-tight lining. Reinforced-concrete tank is disposed below earth mass surface. Sand layer is placed above reinforced-concrete tank and horizontal vapor-liquid thermal siphons are fitted above its lower surface. Heat insulator is disposed on top and side surfaces of sand layer and drain groove, over perimeter of this layer. Space between walls of reservoir contracting from top downwards and reinforced-concrete tank, as well as between reservoir cover and tank surface is filled with dispersed earth.
EFFECT: enhanced environmental friendliness and enlarged service life.
