FIELD: environment control; heat treatment of solid wastes. SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing solid radioactive wastes with aluminosilicates and flux, compressing, and sequentially conveying them through drying and pyrolysis zones, pre-combusting, gasifying, afterburning, and melting at counterflow of exit gases. Device implementing this method has three-section cavity with loading unit on top, gas conduit to convey exit gases, and branch pipe that functions to limit height of charged waste layer and is connected through vertical communicating channel of horizontal homogenizing chamber to this chamber accommodating turning bath; device is lined inside. Horizontal homogenizing chamber is provided with plasma reactor and plasma generator and has external bottom mounted on inner surface of its end wall; melt outlet units are arranged in chamber bottom and at its side walls. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities, improved speed, safety, and quality of end product. 3 dwg
