FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has two members being positive contact meniscus and inlet aspherical biconvex lens. The contact meniscus is engageable with external eye surface and has spherical surfaces. The inlet lens surfaces are not spherical; their shape is calculated from formulas of hyperbolic surfaces having their optical axes coincident with the optical axis of the lens. The contact meniscus and inlet lens are manufactured from optical glass K8 and TK21, respectively. The ophthalmologic wide- angle lens has vision field angle equal to 130 deg. EFFECT: high accuracy in examining peripheral contours of retina. 6 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
