FIELD: measurement technology; flaw detection of walls of gas-filled pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: proposed device includes electronic units arranged in hermetic container, unit for motion of containers over pipe lines sensors for measurement of flaw depth which are connected with hermetic container, sensors for recording position; hermetic container is provided with transparent sections on its surface; provision is made for additional magnetic flux former for forming magnetic flux in section of pipe line under test, circular magnetic tape with hold-down pressing it to wall of pipe line and tape transport system; zone of contact of magnetic tape with pipe line wall is located in area of formed magnetic flux; magnetic tape transport unit is synchronized with hermetic container motion unit; device includes also magneto-optical film located on transparent section of hermetic container which is in contact with circular magnetic tape, polarized light source and photodetector matrix which are optically interconnected through magneto- optical film, polarizer and optical image shaping system which are found in hermetic container; photodetector matrix is electrically connected with electronic units. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of location of defective areas due to providing image of defect which may be subjected to further analysis. 1 dwg
