FIELD: measuring technology; flaw detection of pipe line walls and other industries. SUBSTANCE: proposed device includes electronic units arranged in hermetic container, unit for motion of container over pipe line, flaw depth and deformation measurement sensors, flaw location recording sensors, magnetic flux former for forming magnetic flux in section of pipe line under test, additional hermetic container which is transparent on side directed towards pipe line wall and is mounted on holder articulated with hermetic container through movable lever. Hermetic container contains light source optically connected with additional hermetic container through optical fiber; arranged in additional hermetic container in way of light beam are: polarizer, hemispherical lens and optical image system; hemispherical lens is located on transparent face of additional hermetic container ( on its inner surface). Located on outer surface of additional container is magnetooptical film provided with multi-layer dielectric coat; this film is located above surface of pipe line wall in magnetic flux forming area. End face of optical fiber is located in focal plane of hemispherical lend and face of light conduit core is located in area of magnetooptical material image. Multi-layer dielectric coat on magnetooptical material consists of quarter-wave length layers of dielectric material at different refractive indices; light illuminates interfaces of dielectric layers at Brewster's angle and polarization of radiation is oriented in plane of light incidence. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of location of defective areas; possibility of locating defective area and obtaining its image for subsequent additional analysis. 2 dwg
