SUBSTANCE: protective lid used to protect active material of storage battery against mechanical and climatic damage without increasing battery size has flat box-shaped case with electrolyte filler holes on its surface and holes for passing terminal leads. It also has stiffening ribs and L-shaped projection in lid cover used to fasten the lid to battery by dipping it in active material.
