FIELD: poultry and animal farming. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has biocalorimeter made in the form of thermal bridge from high heat-conductive material. Three heat flux sensors positioned on thermal bridge surface are: first is radiometric sensor positioned in the center on cover top surface; second and third sensors are arranged diametrically one with respect to the other in lower part of cover, at the level of bird's (chicken's) or animal's back. Fourth heat flux sensor is positioned in axially aligned relation to first sensor in upper part of thermal bridge. First planar sectioned heater positioned above second, third and fourth sensors is extending through separating metal wall. First planar heater has low power sections arranged above second, third and fourth sensors, and high power sections arranged in the vicinity of their end parts. Apparatus is used in convective and local heating systems for heating young animals or birds during their first days of life by means of infrared heaters. EFFECT: increased efficiency by improved heating mode control. 4 dwg
