FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method is intended to determine coefficients of separation at fluid purification plants and also separators controlling level of impurities in fluid flow. Fluid is fed into two in-series installed separators and amounts of trapped impurities are measured simultaneously on each separator. When separators are identical, measurements are then ended and coefficient of separation is calculated. When separators are different, feeding fluid into separators is interrupted, separators are reinstalled in inverse order, fluid is fed consecutively into inverted separators, and amounts of trapped impurities are measured simultaneously on each separator. Method can by applied in oil and gas industry. EFFECT: enabled determination of coefficients of separation for two separators simultaneously and reduced operational expenses.
