FIELD: design of escalators. SUBSTANCE: step for escalators and conveyors including support plate for carried people has at least one strip in zone of one of its outer parts. Strip is made of plastic and is provided with several pin-like projections on side pointed to support plate. Pins pass through corresponding through holes in part of support plate to side directed from support plate and are installed relative to support plate by means of connecting members. Several strips are arranged one after the other on at least one of outer parts of support plate. Edge parts of separate strips adjoining each other are provided with sections at least partially overlapping each other, and projections of strips are provided with blind holes to receive self-tapping screws. EFFECT: reduced cost of mounted and provision of reliable fastening of edge strips. 4 cl, 8 dwg
