FIELD: escalators and moving walks.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices producing uniform movement of transporting chains used in escalators and moving walks. According to invention, electric drive connected, if necessary, with transfer mechanism is operated by means of at least one frequency converter to provide rotation of drive at non-constant speed. Phase position of reversible wheel of chain used for transportation of pedestrians and speed of chains are measured and measurands are fed into control unit connected with frequency converter where measurands are compared with values stored in control unit to transmit corresponding signals to frequency converter. Device contains at least one pickup to determine phase position of said reversible wheel which transmits measurands into said control unit electrically connected with frequency converter and at least one pickup to determine chain speed which transmits measured values into said control unit.
EFFECT: provision of uniform movement of chain of pedestrian transporting system.
