FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of refinement of fluoromethyl- 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropyl ether by decrease of content of 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroiso-propyl alcohol. Method involves contact of fluoromethyl-1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropyl ether containing 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropyl alcohol in the amount less about 1 wt.-% with alkaline aqueous solution that has a base taken in the amount providing ratio of chemical equivalents of indicated base and 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropyl ether = 1 that has no 1,1,1,3,3,3- hexafluoroisopropyl alcohol. Method provides refinement of fluoromethyl-1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-isopropyl ether containing at least 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-isopropyl alcohol to degree required for medicine aims.
