FIELD: organic synthesis and analytical methods. SUBSTANCE: invention provides method of quantitatively analyzing sample containing organic compound and unreacted hydrogen fluoride with no risk of damaging gas chromatograph provided with capillary column containing cross-linked cyanopropylmethylphenylsiloxane enabling separation of very small amounts of impurities and quantitative evaluation of unreacted starting substances and by-products having boiling temperatures within a wide temperature range. Sevofluran production process control method is also proposed distinguishing in that, in one of the following stages, variable level of a specific component is determined to control carrying out this stage: interaction of 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropyl alcohol, formaldehyde or paraformaldehyde, and hydrogen fluoride in presence of sulfuric acid; interaction of crude fluoromethyl- 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropyl ether with water-alkali solution or with water; and distillation of crude Sevofluran.
