SUBSTANCE: one embodiment of the method for the producing sevoflurane comprises the following steps: (a) purification of a mixture containing hexafluoroacetone and more than 120 ppm of 1,1,1-trifluoro-2,2-dichloroethane as an impurity to produce purified hexafluoroacetone containing 120 ppm or less than 1,1,1-trifluoro-2,2-dichloroethane; (b) reduction of hydrogen (H2) in contact with the purified hexafluoroacetone in the presence of a catalyst, whereby hexafluoroacetone is hydrogenated to give hexafluoroisopropanol, and (c) reaction of hexafluoroisopropanol, formaldehyde and hydrogen fluoride in the presence of the Lewis acid or the Bronsted acid.
EFFECT: reducing the time of receipt.
