FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing hexafluoropropylene oxide by liquid-phase oxidation of hexafluoro-propylene in trifluorotrichloroethane. Hexafluoropropylene is oxidized in the presence of metallic surface heated at temperature of not lower than 170 C, and heat is simultaneously withdrawn from reaction zone. Invention is useful in fluoroorganic chemistry for preparing hexafluoropropylene oxide which is semiproduct for preparing surfactants, oils and solvents. EFFECT: conversion of hexafluoropropylene near to 100% and yield of charged hexafluoropropylene of about 75-85%. 2 ex, 2 tbl
