FIELD: machine engineering, namely production of radial thrust ball bearings. SUBSTANCE: method for controlling dimensions of raceways of races of double- and single-row radial thrust ball bearings comprises steps of measuring by means of template curvature radius of groove surface of raceway in outer and inner races; measuring in arbitrary axial section of race fluctuation of set dimension ΔP along straight lines inclined relative to lines normal to race axis by contact angle β of ball bearing and fluctuation ΔDg of diameter of groove of raceway relative to their nominal values; converting measurement results to parameter Δf, characterizing displacement of contact lines in races according to formula Δf = (ΔDg•ctgβ-ΔP/sinβ)•K, where K= 1 for double-row race and K=0.5 for single-row race; comparing said parameter with allowable values. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measuring displacement of contact lines in races with use of simplified process. 4 dwg
