FIELD: mechanical engineering; antifriction bearings. SUBSTANCE: proposed spherical roller bearing has outer race with spherical race surface, inner race with toroidal race surface, and two extreme flanges of similar height, even number of barrel-shaped rollers and cage. Thrust surfaces of extreme flanges are arranged at angle relative to end faces of inner race, and rollers are made asymmetrical. End faces of neighbor rollers, remote from plane of their maximum diameter, are pointed to opposite flanges. End faces of rollers remote from plane of maximum diameter are either spherical of flat. Thrust surfaces of extreme flanges are arranged at angle relative to end faces of inner race. EFFECT: improved reliability of bearing owing to elimination of edge effect. 3 cl, 3 dwg
