FIELD: manufacture of angular ball bearings. SUBSTANCE: method consist in measurement of deviation of diameter in outer ΔDr and inner Δdr raceways in unspecified axial section. Deviation of assembly dimension β0 from nominal values is measured along straight lines making angle ΔK of contact in bearing with perpendiculars to axis of race. Result of measurement of races is converted to parameter ΔV characterizing deviation of angle of contact in bearing by formula ΔC = ΔCo-ΔCi, where ΔCo = -ΔKo•ctgβ0+0,5ΔDr/sinβ0 is for outer race; ΔCi = -ΔKi•ctgβ0+0,5Δdr/sinβ0 is for inner race. If parameter ΔC does not exceed permissible value diameter of balls for assembly of bearing from measured races is determined by formula ⊘b = (ΔKo+ΔKi)+⊘bо,, where ⊘bо is nominal diameter of balls in bearing. Gear for implementation of method comprises instrument measuring outer races and instrument measuring inner races. Each instrument includes frame to base measured race, two measurement heads anchored on frame to measure assembly dimension of race, first unit summing electric signals of measurement heads measuring diameter of raceway, second unit summing electric signals of measurement heads measuring assembly dimension, unit of algebraic summation and two reading indicators. First indicator is connected to input of second summing unit, second indicator is connected to output of unit changing scale of electric signals.
