FIELD: facilities for entering information in and reading it out of optical medium. SUBSTANCE: converter has rotation unit mounted on fixed base for rotation; holder connected to rotation unit; bobbin supported so that it is held motionless in position; supporting plate fixed to base and placed between rotation unit and bobbin; lens; focusing coil and tracking coils; first magnets for building up magnetic fields perpendicular to current flowing through focusing coil and tracking coils to produce electromagnetic force for bobbin control; system for illuminating record medium and for detecting light reflected from record medium and passed through lens. Reflecting mirror is mounted on rotation unit between lens and optical system. Second magnets are installed so that they are facing inclination coils. Inclination angle of light beam incident on optical disk and reflected from the latter through reflecting mirror and lens can be adjusted according to inclination of record medium so that inclined and reflected light beams are always perpendicular to respective surfaces.
