FIELD: metallurgy; preparation of briquettes, mainly non-ferrous chip briquettes for remelting. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes heating the briquettes in working chamber, delivery of combustion products and air to after-burner chamber at simultaneous delivery of additional air, after-burning and use of after-burning products for heating the briquettes. After-burning of combustion products is performed at two stages in after-burner chamber at proportioned extraction. Afterburner chamber includes preliminary after-burner chamber and final after-burner chamber. Additional air is divided into two flows: one flow is delivered to space between after-burning products extraction port and port of delivery of these products to final after-burner chamber. After-burning products are extracted without excessive oxygen and their volume is regulated by temperature of working chamber.
