FIELD: analytical methods. SUBSTANCE: introduction of 6 halogen atoms into phenol molecule is proposed for subsequent determination of 2,4,6- tribromophenyltrifluoroacetate by electron-capture detector having sensitivity for halogen-containing compound 100 times higher that that of flame-ionization detector. In addition, introduction of three bromine atoms into phenol molecule considerably increases hydrophobicity of the molecule, which ensures quantitative isolation of substance being analyzed into organic phase. Subsequent acylation of 2,4,6- tribromophenol improves its has chromatographic properties. EFFECT: reduced detection threshold. 1 tbl, 7 ex
