FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of detecting mononitrophenol in aqueous media involves chemical modification thereof into acetates, where said modification is carried out in two steps, at the first step using bromine as the modifying reagent in amount of 0.01-0.05% of the weight of the aqueous sample in the presence of glycine, extraction concentration of bromine derivatives of toluene, acylation in a medium of acetic anhydride and gas-chromatographic detection of the obtained acetates of bromine derivatives of mononitrophenols using an electron capture detector.
EFFECT: high sensitivity of analysis.
